More than 2,000 Starbucks baristas at 120 U.S. stores have gone on strike since Sunday to protest a new company dress code.

Workers believe the new policy diverts attention from the real issues the international coffee conglomerate needs to address, said Mikael Makoyii Melendez, a supervisor at the picketing Starbucks store.

More than 1,200 Starbucks employees with Starbucks Workers United have gone on strike to protest a dress code policy that went into effect this week.
