Eddie Vedder is bringing his love for Seattle and San Diego to Major League Baseball! On Friday, MLB announced that the Mariners and Padres will compete for the Vedder Cup every year, and will partner with the rockstar’s charity to support Epidermolysis Bullosa research.

The Padres will join rock star Eddie Vedder in creating the real Vedder Cup, the prize for the victor in their six-game season series with Seattle.

Wait. The Padres and Mariners are making the “Vedder Cup” official? Talk about a grass-roots “campaign” sprouting out of press box shenanigans in Peoria, Ariz., and climbing all the way up the corporate ladder.
