US District Judge James Boasberg vowed on Friday to find out whether officials in the Trump administration violated his orders temporarily blocking the use of an 1798 law for deportations by refusing to turn two flights around last weekend.

The federal judge says the government has so far provided “woefully insufficient” information about three deportation flights to El Salvador.

Judge James Boasberg started off the hearing by telling Deputy Assistant Attorney General Drew Ensign that, in filings over the course of this week, there had been “disrespectful, intemperate language” of a sort he had “never seen from the United States.”

Lawyers with the DOJ returned to court Friday afternoon to defend the deportation of more than two hundred Venezuelan migrants under the Alien Enemies Act.

A federal judge said Friday that President Donald Trump's use of a more than 200-year-old wartime law to deport alleged Venezuelan gang members from the United States was "incredibly troublesome."
