A Cornell graduate student who has been a prominent voice at pro-Palestinian protests is being told to surrender to Immigration and Customs Enforcement, according to a new court filing made shortly after he asked a judge to preemptively order the government not to deport him.

U.S. immigration officials on Friday sent an email to the legal team of Momodou Taal, a Cornell University student who has participated in pro-Palestinian protests, asking him to turn himself in, Taal's attorneys said in a court filing.

Pro-Palestinian activist and international student Momodou Taal was told to turn himself into U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. This move comes amid his involvement in a lawsuit against the federal government over First and Fifth Amendment rights.
