STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN - While Travis Konecny plays for Canada at the World Championship, his NHL team found its next bench boss.

Rick Tocchet will be tasked with directing the Philadelphia Flyers' rebuild. Philadelphia announced Wednesday it has hired Tocchet as the 25th head coach in franchise history to replace John Tortorella, who was fired on March 27 with only nine games left in the regular season.

According to TSN's Darren Dreger, the Boston Bruins are among the "top contenders" for head coach Rick Tocchet.

Adam Foote will reportedly be tasked with leading the Vancouver Canucks back into playoff contention after a tumultuous 2024-25 season.
