Maine State Police say a crash on the turnpike early Sunday morning shut down southbound lanes for hours. On Sunday at around 2:38 a.m. in Falmouth, police say they found two cars that had crashed around mile marker 55.

As of 8:29 a.m. Sunday, all southbound lanes of the Maine Turnpike between Exit 63 in Gray and Exit 53 in Falmouth are closed following an early morning crash. At least two cars were involved. A spokesperson for the Maine State Police says one person is in the hospital with injuries.
